“A Post-structuralist Fantasy & Freezywater”

Composer Leo Chadburn introduces Peter Greenaway’s fantastical short film, Vertical Features Remake (1978), which parodies and plays with the ideas of structuralist cinema, and his own work for chamber ensemble and speaking voices, Freezywater, which shares some parallel concerns.

CUEE at IKLECTIK with guest artist Cath Roberts

CUEE (City Experimental Ensemble) are a wide-ranging, free-wheeling large ensemble of young improvisers and experimental musicians, led by Tullis Rennie. They are delighted to welcome composer and baritone saxophonist Cath Roberts as their special guest. They will perform a number of her works, including a new piece written specially for the ensemble. The concert will also include new works by postgraduate composers, devised pieces by smaller groups from within CUEE, animated visual scores, conduction and free improvisation.

Based at City, University of London, CUEE recently worked with composer Michael Finnissy for an event marking his 70th, and have also performed the work of Pauline Oliveros with Seth Cluett.
